How to Be a Hero in 8 Ways

August 27, 2012 Vic Leave a Comment

You don’t need to have super powers and super abilities like Superman, Spiderman, and the members of the Avengers to be a super hero. If you do several small heroic deeds every day or regularly, you can be a big hero. Here are 8 simple yet very challenging ways on how you can be a real hero.

1. Be a role model

Be a role model of anything that you can be great, such as a role model employee, businessman, son, daughter, mom, dad, policeman, taxi driver, teacher, government official, tax collector, et cetera. It doesn’t matter what is your job or position. What matters most is how you do it. So do it with all your might and passion like a hero.

2. Be a leader

Be a person who can unite people and influence them to achieve a common goal. In this world where most people don’t want to take great responsibility and accountability, and just want to be passive, taking the responsibility of a leader is already an act of heroism.

3. Be a loyal follower

Considering that your leader is righteous and your organizational goal is heroic, being a loyal follower, who upholds that goal, would also make you heroic. In our times where lots of people are selfish, unfaithful and having crab mentality, being an obedient follower is extraordinary.

4. Be the first to move

It takes a lot of courage to be a hero. Be a hero by being the first to take the risks and face the challenges of fighting for your own people, for discovering new things for the people, and for solving problems of the people. Remember that inventors and entrepreneurs, who first bring something useful to the world and who made our lives better, are considered heroes.

5. Be the last to quit

Be strong and persistent. Be the last to surrender, or never surrender at all, when everyone is almost giving up. You could be a hero by letting other people be safe and happy before yourself. If being the first to receive pain is heroism, being the last to receive joy is also the same. Be a hero by being the last to leave or evacuate in the middle of calamity or even in the midst of poverty in your community or country.

6. Save yourself

If you want to be a hero and save your loved ones, the community, your country, and the world, then you should start by being a hero of yourself or by saving yourself. Be a hero by developing yourself to be always prepared to save others. Take note that the worst villain you will ever face in your entire life is… yourself. Hence, overcome the worst self in you. Always practice self-improvement, whether it’s financial, physical, emotional, mental or spiritual improvement.

7. Save other people

You don’t need to be a Super Man or a Spider Man to save other people. You can save them in many small ways. These small ways when done daily or regularly can make a difference. Therefore, help the old ones cross the street, give some food to the hungry people, comfort those who are mourning, give direction to the lost ones, and do many other things you can accomplish in your ordinary days.

8. Learn how to love your country

One of the main reasons why a nation doesn’t progress is the lack of love from its citizens. Because most of us are only busy falling in love with our special someone, few of us are learning to fall in love with our own country. Be a hero by showing your true love for your country. Loving someone is good, but loving a nation, where you, your special someone and millions or even billions of people were born, is even better. Love your country by patronizing its own products. Love your country by giving your talents, skills, and knowledge to its people. Love your country by always giving honor to it.

There are many other ways to be a champion of justice or a hero. Practicing and championing justice, itself, can make you a hero. Also remember that heroes are humble instead of being proud. They do heroic jobs in silence and without announcing it to the world like hypocrites. That is why most super heroes always wear their masks. They do not boast; they are just busy saving people’s lives. But to be a super hero, you don’t have to wear a mask, perhaps you just need to learn how to keep your mouth shut – so that the talking stops and the action begins. Be a hero now!
