We all have our dreams, ambitions or goals, and we want to achieve them as fast as we can. Business owners want to be more profitable. Employees and professionals want to be more productive. We all want to achieve higher performance to attain more productivity, profitability and sustainability. Thus, we begin our journey with great hope and promises.
But when we step on our way to reaching our goals, we face many hindrances. These obstacles may be from outside influencers or from within ourselves. But since, all of our life’s ultimate decisions lie within us, what really hinder us is none other than ourselves. That is why if you want to increase and optimize your life or personal performance, you should begin to look at yourself.
To optimize our work rate, I only have one advice for that. That advice is to “dispose your garbage regularly”. Whatever garbage it is, whether it’s found in your trashcan, stomach, brain, or in the heart, you’ve got to dispose it on a regular basis. Disposal, as it may sounds dirty, is a simple process that may take time. Busy people, who call themselves to have no time at all, ignore this process. That is why these wastes are accumulated overtime to the extent that they are already difficult to clean up and wash away.
We all have many wastes in life. Even the physical trashes found in your room can affect your metaphysical senses, that is, the way you feel and the way you think. If you want to work efficiently, you should soothe your eyes and comfort your nose with neat and organized surroundings. A good housekeeping can optimize your work whether in your home or in the office.
Our own body might also be carrying some wastes. They can include our excessive fats that make us heavy and extra sugar that makes us weak. Some other waste like alcohol and nicotine can cause us addiction, which can also lead us to more money spending and worsening of our self-control. These health problems are among the common things that can interrupt our work momentum. That is why if you want to accomplish more things, you should always get your body in shape. Regular workout or exercise can help you get rid of those wastes from your precious body.
Now turn to your brain. Do you find any garbage in there? What about your excessive plans and dreams? What about the too many opportunities you want to seize? If you want to really achieve success, you should think of the word “focus”. Get success one at a time. Or if you have the resources, try to delegate the other tasks, thinking and responsibilities to other people so that you can concentrate on your core activities. If you don’t have money to outsource, then let the excessive thoughts go away before it can consume your brain entirely. Focus is perhaps the most important key to life’s optimization.
Now let’s look deeper inside your heart. Tell me if it’s clean. I hope there are no bunches of garbage in there. I hope there are no greed, pride and envy on it. That’s because they are wastes that can impure your life. Greed can cause you too many desires which can also give you too many thoughts that can pollute your brain. Pride can kill relationships. Envy can cause you frustration and depression. If you want to have an efficient and effective life, then purify your heart. Fill it with kindness, humility and inspiration. Don’t you become more efficient when you’re truly happy, peaceful and inspired?
Finally, let’s check our soul. The soul makes our whole personality. It is where our principles and beliefs reside. There, garbage may also be found. Try to ask yourself what your principles in life are. Try to determine what beliefs you are following in life. Do you believe in luck or do you believe in the cause and effect? If you believe in the cause and effect, you will likely become more an executor rather than a spectator. Do you believe in justice and equality or do you believe in winning by deceit? A person who believes in equality knows that he needs to work diligently to achieve success, while the one who believes in deceit will always lack the peace of mind.
Do you believe in God or do you believe in randomness? To optimize our life’s performance we need to have a powerful faith. Believing that God exists and believing that God doesn’t exist are actually both forms of faith. The only difference is that the first belief will give you something good, while the latter gives you nothing good. Faith, hope and love will optimize our life’s performance because they give us something to look on even after our death.
