Doing what you love and earning a living from it is a dream everyone wants to realize. That will make any person happy and enjoy his life. It will also make anyone more motivated and productive, considering that doing what you love will give you maximum utilization of your zeal, talents and skills. However, profiting and earning money from the things you’re passionate of is not as easy as you might think. It is always associated with risks and challenges that can bring you to failure and losses if not detected, prevented and managed properly. The following are some important guidelines you need to learn to start making a living by following your true passion.
Love yourself by knowing and understanding who you really are. To know and understand yourself, always have time for reflection and meditation. Listen to what other people (especially honest people) are telling you. Also listen to your inner self. Be humble and admit that you are not good at everything. But be thankful that you are best on something.
Develop what you believe you’re best of. When you believe, your belief must be justified. It must not only be a feeling, but also a reasoning. So if you believe that you’re best in cookery and in running a restaurant business, and that you have the talents, skills and resources in satisfying your customers and excel in this kind of service, then it must be experimented, tested and reevaluated.
Be an expert. Experts make a living out of their expertise. If you can develop that special talent of yours and you will be able to perfect it, then you can surely make a living out of it. Don’t believe that no one is perfect, but understand that everyone is perfect on something else. Hence, start practicing that something else until you perfect it… until you achieve the confidence of an expert.
Be professional. Embrace your expertise as your long-term career. Develop your communication skills and promote yourself to the public in conformity with the existing rules of professional ethics. Monetize your work and value it for good money by providing people with high quality products or services. Motivate yourself everyday and always have a positive attitude towards what you are doing.
Love your people; love God. Share your profit; share your blessings. Share them to your employees and workers if you have. Share them to you your customers through discounts, giveaways and or through satisfaction guarantee. Be socially responsible and help your community. Honor your family and honor your God. You must have an inspiration and a great reason for doing your thing.
Make it your life. Make your passion your life. If your passion is writing, then make it your life. Connect your writing to every aspect of your life. Hear it, say it, think it, feel it, believe it, hold it, do it, accomplish it, and live it! If you want to make a living by doing what you love, you’ve got to give your life to it. In other words you’ve got to make it right not only for today, but for the rest of your life. That is why you need to understand, justify, enrich, practice, continue, share and connect what you love.
