And with the rise of the Internet, online stock trading is now possible at the comfort of your Internet-connected computer or mobile devices like tablets and smart phones. Online stock trading is the process of buying and or selling stocks through the Internet. Unlike the traditional stock trading, where placing orders are done with the assistance of a broker through telephone, online stock trading is done on the Internet through a secured online system by the investor or trader himself.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the government agency that governs and regulates the securities industry in the Philippines. The SEC has also granted the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) its own organizational power to implement rules and penalties to regulate trading participants and listed companies. You will realize that you can actually open an online trading account with an initial funding of as low as P5,000 with some of them. This is already a reasonable amount to invest if you want to learn the game of stock trading. You will also notice that the usual broker’s commission for selling and buying stocks online is 0.25% based on gross trade amount. However, take note that there are still other fees and charges involved in online stock trading, such as PSE fees, SCCP fees, and VAT.
