Our Business Blog’s 1st Anniversary

January 26, 2012 Vic 12 Comments

It was January 26, 2011, when I’ve written and published my first blog post… titled “business development blog from the Philippines”. It was just a brief piece of writing with an introduction on how I envision this blog in the future. Today, January 26. 2012, is our blog’s 1st Anniversary!  Honestly, I really don’t have any idea what to write on this supposedly Anniversary Special blog post. This is because I’m still thinking on how I can finish writing those how-to-guide articles in my what-to-write list. But I’ve heard that this post should be a presentation of our blog’s year-end accomplishments and an expression of gratitude to everyone who have contributed to the success of this blog. So let’s get it on.

What we have become after a year

After a year, I’m glad that we are still blogging and serving everyone in the world. Our blog has already reached out to almost half a million people globally. We are also now one of the top 5 most visited business blogs in the Philippines according to Topblogs.com.ph. We are also one of the top 100 blogs in all categories so far in that same ranking site as of today.

This post will be our 385th blog post. And from these posts, there are already 1,263 approved comments that have made these discussions engaging. As the chief writer of this blog, my online friends have increased dramatically. Most of them are readers from this blog and bloggers I’ve met online.

There are many good things that we have gained through this blog, such as mentions from international business blogs, recognition as one of the best business blogs in the country, invitation for TV and media exposure, and of course earnings from advertising. But the best thing that happen to us are the priceless thanks and honor we receive from our loyal readers and followers who believe that our blog has become helpful and useful to their lives.

Thank you

Our blog will not continue to exist without God and the people who have helped us made all these things possible. I thank God for giving me the wisdom and understanding that lead me to creating this blog and continuing to teach people on topics about business, leadership, and life in its entirety. Thank you to all our readers, who are the reasons why I became a writer, teacher and a blogger. Thank you to our commentators who are continuously making our topics more engaging and interesting.

Thank you to our followers and subscribers on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Feedburner and other social media sites. I also want to thank these pretty ladies, namely, Kristel Cuenta and Lyza Sabornido for sharing their talents in writing and contributing articles on our blog.

This blog will not also run without spending money. Thus, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all my financers, who are my closest friends and my family. They are private persons, so I will not mention their names. I also appreciate the important lessons I’ve learned from joining different groups on Facebook, such as the Eastern Visayas Bloggers, Pinoy Bloggers, Pinoy Online Professionals, Proudly Pinoy Bloggers, Filipino Bloggers Worldwide, Filipino Business Owners Group and the SEO Philippines Organization.

Thank you to all my mentors who are composed of ancient and modern philosophers, world leaders, scientists, book authors, bloggers, and extraordinary persons whom I always meet in the ordinary days. And of course, thank you to the WordPress team for powering our blog. Thank you to the hundreds to thousands of people who serve as my inspiration though I may not mention your name.

What we want to be after another year

We are aiming to become the no.1 most visited business blog in the country. We also want our blog to be recognized as one of the best business blogs in the world for small business owners and entrepreneurs. I’ve actually chosen the dotPH domain name to bring with us the flag of the Philippines wherever we will go. I hope that we can bring the Philippines to the top of the world after a year or two. So please don’t stop supporting us.

Our $100 cash giveaway goes to…

As promised, we will be spending a $100 cash giveaway to one of our lucky followers on Facebook. And the lucky person who will receive the $100 cash is none other than…

Final thoughts

We still have a lot of steps to take. We still have many questions to answer and several problems to solve. We are just starting our journey to changing the world. Therefore, please stay tuned.

Thanks Arwin. Haha. We’ll check our budget. Don’t worry, within this year, we will be giving rewards to our followers by surprise. I’m planning to giveaway domain names, books and other items as long as our budget permits. 🙂 I want to do that without requiring anything from our followers.

Thank you. I’m just lucky I don’t have much clients. Hehe. That is why I can give more time and attention to blogging.
