The Secret to Become a Successful Blogger

What’s the secret to becoming a successful blogger? Why do most bloggers fail? Why there are some blogs that reach the pinnacle of success? These are only some of the intriguing questions many aspiring bloggers are asking.

I’m not saying that my blog is already successful. I will never say that – I let other people and witnesses to tell that for me. 🙂 I also know that there are many bloggers who are more successful than me in terms of traffic, ranking, financial earning, fame, and honor. I appreciate and follow them to learn from them.

And I’ve learn from them! This is why I’m telling you a secret based on what I’ve learned from them and based on my own experiment and experience.

If you want to become a successful blogger, here is the secret.

The secret to blogging success is… to forget blogging.

Sounds crazy?

Perhaps it is. But remember that most of the people who attain the highest form of success in life are those folks whom you may tell… hey dude, what you’ve just done is crazy!

Remember Felix Baumgartner – the guy who jumped from the stratosphere 128,100 feet above the ground? That was crazy! But now, he has earned a lot from it: world record, fame, money, honor and respect – you name it, not to mention his Twitter and Facebook followers has surged since then.

Also take note some of the famous billionaires, like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. When they have dropped out their Harvard college to pursue their passion – this also sounds crazy considering the prestige of Harvard University.

But of course you don’t need to jump from the sky and set a new world record or drop your studies from a reputable school to become a successful blogger.

As I have said, to be a successful blogger, you have to forget blogging.

But it doesn’t mean you have to quit blogging. What I only mean is to forget blogging for a certain time.

Successful and professional bloggers don’t think about blogging when they do their stuff.

For example, a successful photography blogger just take pictures like a masterpiece without blogging in his mind. He masterfully crafts those photos without thinking of traffic or the money he could earn from blogging those images.

Another example is a top Internet marketing and SEO blogger who just professionally do his research and experimentation to come up with an extensive report without thinking the long hours he is spending just to provide useful information to his readers.

One more example is a travel blogger who is enjoying his travel and adventure without rushing to make a blog post, but instead patiently trying to experience the whole fun of travelling just to collect and share the best pictures, videos, and information that will help his followers.

Those kinds of bloggers above sometimes forget about blogging because they are focusing on doing their expertise or in doing what they are best of. They sometimes or even often forget about their blogging income and their traffic statistics.

Most bloggers today are blogging because of making money. Although it’s okay, it should not be the primary purpose of blogging. Besides, money will come naturally if you earn the respect and trust of your blog’s visitors and followers.

Don’t just blog something because it is what will give you the highest and most instant profit. You have to think for the long-term consequence. You have to blog what will really help your audience and what will eventually earn their loyalty – the thing that will naturally and inevitably give you better and long-lasting profit.

Don’t just blog something because that is what’s hot right now or that’s where everybody is blogging. Don’t do that if you don’t have the expertise, or else, you may end up providing poor-quality content that will destroy your reputation as a blogger.

Don’t jump into the bandwagon! Make your own. Be unique and be the best.

What really make a blogger successful are his or her expertise, specific dedication, unending passion, and reputation. Even if you are not expert in blogging, if you are expert on what you are blogging, you could still succeed in this industry.

Of course there is an exception to that. The exception is when you are blogging about blogging. Here, you have to be expert on blogging to earn a large number of followers.

The point is… you have to do the things that you do best, and then… just blog it.

It may sounds crazy but you have to forget about the common things on blogging: traffic, fame, award, and especially money – just execute what you do best. And yes, have fun!
