8 Ways to Make Money Using Facebook in the Philippines

July 11, 2017 Marydel Mitch Flores 1 Comment

Facebook is the largest social network in the world and probably the website where most people spend their time right now. We use Facebook and other social media platforms to share photos, videos, status, and to keep in touch with friends. But it is also important to know that in today’s generation, it’s a great source of extra income. Businesses and brands are also using the social media giant to promote their products and attract more customers.

Instead of spending your time scrolling through your Facebook news feed or stalking someone, why not use your precious hours to earn money? With a billion users, you’ll have no trouble finding an audience that will be interested in what you want to promote.

Today, I am going to give you some ways and tips to making money online using Facebook.

1. Be a brand ambassador.
If your Facebook profile or Facebook Page have hundred thousand or more followers, you can offer businesses and companies to promote their products or brands to your followers. Make sure you have real followers (not fake) who are actively engaging in your posts to give an impression to potential clients that their brands will reach an active and engaging audience.

2. Create a blog and earn thru FAN with Facebook Instant Articles.
If you have a blog and you have great articles, you can apply your Facebook Page and blog with Facebook Instant Articles and Facebook Audience Network (FAN). Once your page and blog are approved, you can put ads from FAN in your Facebook Instant Articles and earn from it per click or impression. FAN works just like Google AdSense. If your blog is popular among Facebook mobile users and have a potential to go viral on the social platform, then FAN might be a good choice to monetize your blog.

3. Create a blog and earn thru Good AdSense.
If you think Facebook Audience is not for you or its earnings is not what you expect it to be, then you can just drive your Facebook Page followers directly to your blog instead of directing it to your Facebook Instant Articles. By not creating or publishing FB Instant Articles, your audience will go directly to your blog when they use their mobile phones. Your FAN earnings will decrease or be gone, but your Google AdSense earnings may increase since your blog’s actual visitors will increase.

4. Promote and sell your own products on Facebook.
If you have a lot of loyal followers on Facebook, why not sell your own products instead? Just make sure you’re selling products or services which are relevant to the stuff you are usually expressing or posting on Facebook. For example, if you’re passionate of posting topics about health and fitness, then you may sell relevant products like health books, health supplement, and even professional advice if you’re a licensed professional on that niche.

5. Do affiliate advertising.
Affiliate programs provide you with a unique ID and marketing materials, and then pays you a commission based on how much business you generate. It’s better to start with well-known brands like Amazon and Lazada which offer a competitive affiliate program that pays a percentage of any purchase a person makes after clicking through from your posts. You earn money when someone buys from your affiliate products though your posts.

6. Do sponsored Likes and Shares.
Basically, if you have a lot of friends and followers on Facebook or you have a good Facebook Page with hundred thousands of fans and followers, you could offer companies to promote their products or services to your followers with a fee. Some companies have their own marketing managers who might find you. So keep your inbox monitored to not miss them. Also, watch out for Facebook’s guidelines for posting sponsored posts, as there might be regulations to be followed like labeling your posts as sponsored to distinguish it from your regular posts.

7. Become a Facebook marketing expert.
One of the advantages of having a lot of followers on Facebook is that people will have an impression that you are a Facebook marketing expert. Well, if you have successfully attracted a lot of loyal followers (in contrast to fake followers), then that’s a good proof of your effectiveness. You can teach people and even corporate personalities how to effectively do Facebook marketing according to your experience.

8. Rent out your Facebook Page.
Yes, just like having a real property, you can also treat your Facebook as a digital property which you can rent out to interested parties. There’s a good number of business owners and digital marketers who are looking for popular Facebook Pages that they can rent on a monthly basis to promote their brands. The cost of lease will depend on the quality of the Page’ followers and engagement. The rental fee will also depend on the privilege the lessor gives to the lessee, like how often the lessee can post on the page. Is this for real? Yes, it is. We have seen a lot of Facebook Page owners earning rents from their Facebook Pages. However, we have not tried renting out our pages to other pages, as they are not made for that purpose.

If you’re planning to rent out your Facebook Page, make sure you do not give administration privilege to ensure security and avoid your Page being stolen by other people – an “editor” access will be enough to give lessees the privilege to post updates and links on your Page as a Page.

NOTE: According to Facebook’s Terms of Service, selling your Facebook Page or any portion of it for any monetary gain is against their policy. We are also trying to find a clear answer on whether it’s also against their policy to rent out a Facebook Page. Therefore, be careful and follow tip #8 at your own risk. If we are to be asked, it’s better to always read and follow Facebook’s Policies to avoid future problems.

Conclusion
Facebook may be popular for people as a place to express what’s in their minds and hearts and to keep in touch with their friends and loved ones. However, the social media giant is more than that, as it can be a useful tool or platform to make money and even run a legitimate business. If you want to be more productive and profitable with your precious time, you may try to follow the tips above and start your way to earning income from Facebook. However, always bear in mind that your success will not be done overnight. It may take several months to see results. Hence, before you grab the opportunities above, make sure you have the passion, patience, and consistency to succeed.
