Leadership is the process of motivating and influencing others to give their aid and support to accomplish a common goal. In business management, we need to motivate our employees within our organization to optimize business processes and achieve productivity. Also, in marketing, we influence people to want our products and increase our profitability. Furthermore, we lead ourselves to achieve personal and professional growth. So how can we really make ourselves effective leaders to accomplish our every goal?

Start by leading yourself

We should understand that we can have many personalities within ourselves. You aren’t only you. You can be the best “you” or you can be the worst “you”. You can also be the real you or you can be the hypocrite you. As I said earlier, leadership is the motivation of others to accomplish a common goal. Since there can be many other personalities inside you, you can lead all them to unite as one and accomplish your best specific goals. You can lead you worst self to follow the best. Likewise, you can control your deceitful self to become real. You should be the leader of yourself – leading it into greatness.

You can’t lead people if you can’t lead yourself

Though it’s harder to explore yourself to lead it than watch others to lead them, your success in leadership must still begin with yourself. It’s not difficult to borrow knowledge and wisdom to utter awe-inspiring words to motivate people. It’s also easy to speak words of change and transformation. However, these words can only become more powerful and effective if the change and transformation are manifested in you. This means that your people should see the fruits of your talks in you as a leader and as a person. In other words, you should become a role model. If you want to transform people, you should first become a transformed person. The simple question to answer is… how can you motivate other people, if you can’t even motivate yourself?

Lead people to lead themselves

Leading oneself should not only be done by leaders, but it must also be practiced by followers. Leaders should teach and encourage their people to become leaders of themselves. The real thing is that we are all leaders and at the same time followers. Leaders follow his people to be able to lead them. On the other hand, followers lead themselves to follow their leader. It’s all about motivation! Whether you are a leader or a follower, you need to motivate or lead yourself. Finally, you need to do what’s right and what’s best, whether you’re big or small, whether you’re first or last, and whether you’re a leader or a follower.
