Carlos Slim, who is still the world’s richest person, has widened his lead over the No. 2 Bill Gates by $18 billion. Warren Buffett is still at the third place with a net worth of $50 billion. For this year, there are 1,210 billionaires who made it to the list, with their total net worth amounted to $4.5 trillion.
There are four Americans who are in the top ten. Among them is Christy Walton, the widow of John Walton, who runs one of the biggest companies in the world – Walmart. At no. 10, Walton is the world’s richest woman. Two billionaires from India have also made it to the top 10 (Lakshmi Mittal at No. 6 and Mukesh Ambani at No. 9). This also means that Mittal has now taken over the place of Ambani as the richest man in India and also in Asia. The following are the top ten people who are considered the richest in the world.
