This is because you will not just attempt to find one virtue inside you, but you need to search for other qualities that will back up that one virtue in you.
Most people don’t know that to become diligent is also to become patient and have self-control. In other words, we cannot attain diligence by having diligence alone. We should also have patience and self-control. Being hard-working needs a lot of hard works to be done. And when we say hard work, it must be a solid and concrete work. Meaning, we should be able to focus and eliminate distractions. Patience and self-control overcome those distractions.
Practicing patience
Now if diligence requires patience, then how can we become patient? Patience is built up, it cannot be achieved overnight. It should be consistently practiced to get used to it. It requires your mental, emotional and even physical strength and stamina. That is why to achieve patience, you should always train yourself to become patient at all times. Just like when you want to have physical strength and endurance, you need to do a lot of regular exercise.

When it comes to gaining self-control, the key lies within you. The secret to having self-control is to find your inner self. You’ve got to be spiritual and selfless. This is because spirituality overcomes the desires of the flesh, such as indolence and indulgence in pleasures. Selflessness teaches us how to make ourselves responsible and reliable persons. It helps us accomplish our plans with straightness. It also gives us the self-confidence we need to survive all the troubles and hardships we face along our path.
