How to Wow Your Customers

December 19, 2012 Joan Cyril Abello Leave a Comment

They wow their customersYour customers are the life of your business. If you get the trust and loyalty of many of them, you are assured of having your enterprise successful. On the contrary, if they dislike your business, it would only give you headaches and bankruptcy in the long run. Meaning, without customers, you have to find another source of income.

Your customers are the reason why you give much effort to come up with the best products or services. The more that they are happy with what you provide them, the more that they come back to you. The more that they come back to your business, the more that you will earn profit. If we are going to summarize the life of doing business, it will go this way: You impress customers, you earn more.

However, it is not that easy to impress customers. Aside that not everyone has the same needs, it is hard to please everybody. Each has his own taste and it could be far different from those of two others that you just have to make varieties of your product or service.

How then can you cater to the needs of different kinds of people who enter your business? Is it possible to impress as many of them as possible?

Yes, it is not easy to make all of your customers like and appreciate what you offer them. However, there are lots of ways which can help you get many of these people’s interests.

To help you boost your business, here are some tips on how to wow your customers:

1. Specify target consumers

If you do not have enough resources to get every variety of service or product into your enterprise to meet all customers’ needs, you just have to make it simple. To avoid frustration, you can lower the expectations of the customers by limiting who can come in or giving them an idea of who you can just entertain. Through this, you can concentrate on finding ways to meet and surpass the expectations of your target customers.

For instance, if you are selling clothes, you can focus on adult or teenage garments. Through this way, no one looking for a baby’s dress will go into your shop. Do not worry about losing the other types of customers. You get an advantage by having a more secure entrance of consumers into your business since you can focus on maintaining them.

2. Do a survey

Yes, it is like doing a feasibility study for your business again—if you have gone through it before plunging into the market. The main goal of doing this survey is finding out what most of your customers want from your product. Having knowledge of what people prefer from doing the same business for a number of years does not guarantee that you already know everything. Maybe you could be just biased to what you want for yourself or you just stick to the voice of a number of people. You have to work with different groups of people and get to know what they think of your product or service to get a wider range of service.

An example of this could be a restaurant’s menu. You probably think that people are satisfied with your fried chickens and barbecue because those are what they come for. However, if you want to get other kinds of diners aside from them, you could survey among subjects from different walks of life and find out what else are lacking in your restaurant. Who knows? There could be more vegetarians than chicken wing lovers out there.

3. Create a royalty atmosphere

Nothing could dazzle people more than stepping into a royalty experience. This does not mean that you have to spend half of your income to transform your place into an elegant palace. The right business setting and treatment from you and the rest of your staff are enough. How do you do this?

Well, of course first of all you have to make sure that your shop or business quarters are neat and comfortable enough to be in. You can also include some decorations to add to the ambiance you are creating, like some type of lights appropriate for your kind of business. You can also put an air conditioner if your place is hot to avoid discomfort for your customers.

Now, with the right place, you can already go to the right etiquette when handling consumers. You have to remind your staff to be always courteous and smiling to the customers. Make it a no-no to show any hint of impatience regardless of how irritating the customer is.

4. Offer too-good-to-be-true promos

One sure way to wow your customers is giving them a favorable price or promo for the products or services they have always wanted. Many are just waiting for chances like these to buy what they want for practicality reasons. Others just get excited to participate in happenings like this. Of course, you do not have to sacrifice your income to do this. There are many ways to make this happen.

An example for this could be if you are selling gadgets. You can have a ‘buy 1 take 1’ promo of cellphones or you can include a free headset and WiFi adapter for a purchase of a laptop. You can also hold raffle draws with a trip to somewhere as the first prize and a flat screen TV for the second.

5. Stand out

What is the best way to wow your customers? It is no other than standing out above the rest. Your business is not alone and for sure you have lots of competitors. Therefore, not only to attract lots of clients but also to sustain their loyalty, you need to always strive for excellence in the quality of your products and services offered.

Just as how the magic of designer brands work, you need to create that mark on the mind of people that will set you high above the rest. Aside from the quality outputs, you must also present them in an outlandish fashion that will command attention from the market. You can do this through a well-planned advertising.

Impressing your customers is not only for the sake of getting sales for today. A good business person always thinks and makes moves for the long-term. Therefore, do not only aim to get the interest of customers but also to keep and increase them in the long run.
